A receipt is a list of prices. Parsy just files it properly.

Three steps, and only the first one is yours.
Snap it or forward it
Photograph the paper one — crumpled and coffee-stained is fine, and long ones can run to several pages. E-receipts go to your own forwarding address.
Parsy reads every line
Item names, prices, quantities, store and date — decoded from receipt shorthand into things you recognise, and sorted into categories.
Your household ledger fills in
Spending by category, by store and by person, and price history for everything you buy. Reading happens in the background — you can leave the screen.
Email receipts
Your household gets its own receipt address.
Delivery orders and online grocery runs email you a receipt. Forward it once, or set up a mail rule and forget about it — it lands in the same ledger as the paper ones.
Yours is generated when you sign up and appears in the app and on your account page. Only receipts sent to that address are read; nothing else in your mailbox is touched, and Parsy never connects to your email account — there is no Gmail or Outlook sign-in and no inbox scanning.

Where the grocery money actually goes.
A month total you can trust, a six-month trend line, and a breakdown by category or store. Every figure traces back to a line on a receipt you can open.
- Categories are editable — correct one and Parsy remembers it for next time.
- Months with no data stay empty instead of guessing.
- Receipts in another currency count too, converted at the purchase-date rate and marked as converted.
Price context
Is that a good price? Eventually, yes.
Every item keeps its own price history across the stores you shop — that part is true from your second receipt, and it is yours alone.
Alongside it, where there is enough data, sits the typical price of that product at that store: an anonymised average pooled across households. That second figure has to earn its place. Until a product has been bought at least 10 times across at least 3 different households, it is simply absent — no partial figure, no “based on 2 households”, no placeholder. Early on you will see the empty state, and that is the honest version.
Before any cross-household figure is shown to users, it must be supported by a minimum number of purchases drawn from several different households, so nothing we display reflects any single household's shopping. Statistics for health-sensitive product categories are never shown across households.

Privacy
Your receipts are nobody else's business.
Every line below is a promise the Privacy Policy makes in writing, not a marketing claim. Read the whole thing — it is short, and it is in plain English.
Never sold, never shared
Individual purchases and receipt images are never exposed to users outside your household, and are never sold or shared with third parties.
Health-related purchases stay out of the statistics
Pain relief, vitamins, feminine care, baby care and skincare are treated as consumer health data and excluded from all cross-user analytics and aggregation.
No location, no geofencing
Parsy does not collect device GPS location and does not request the location permission on your device.
Nothing bought from data brokers
We do not obtain personal information about you from data brokers, marketing partners, or public databases.
No ad SDKs, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics on this site
These marketing pages set no cookies at all and make no third-party request — the fonts are served from this domain. Signing in sets two, both needed to keep you signed in.
In the app: first-party usage events only
The app records product-usage events — that a scan completed, for example — against an internal account identifier, never your receipt images, receipt contents or purchase details. The Policy names every vendor involved, including our product-analytics provider.
